Macy Huskey Commits to UF

Cardinal Gibbons senior Macy Huskey has verbally committed to run for the University of Florida next year. The Miami Herald's High School Athlete of the Year in 2009, she is the two-time defending county champion in the mile (1600), and a two-time first team All-County cross country runner in the Sun-Sentinel. Macy is undefeated against Broward girls in the mile since her sophomore year and has won three district track titles. In May, she finished state runner-up with a school record mile time (5:01.91). Macy also holds the 800 meter record (2:19) and 5K cross country record (19:23).

This Fall, Macy won her second city meet title and has captained her cross country squad to a 26-3 record. She is also an All-County player on a Lady Chiefs soccer team that has won three straight district titles. By the end of her freshman year, Macy had helped lead three sports to team titles. By the end of her sophomore year, she had been named All-County in all three sports. Entering this season, Macy has earned four FHSAA medals: three in track, one in soccer.
