It was an elegant and first class show put on tonight in Orlando by the USTFCCCA. This year's Bowerman Awards put track & field on center stage and honored this year's class of top collegiate athletes. This year's awards went to Kimberlyn Duncan of LSU and Cam Levins of Southern Utah (and Canadian Olympian).
It was a proud night for track & field here in Orlando, as the city played host to the track & field equivalent of the Heisman Trophy presentation. Tony McQuay of UF was a finalist and former Floridian winners Jenny Barringer-Simpson and Ngony Makusha were on hand, among the who's who list of NCAA coaches and athletes.
Six of the nations' top track and field athletes are in Orlando, Florida for the 2012 Bowerman Awards. The awards represent excellence in the sport and are considered the Heisman Trophy of track and field.
Tonight, former Clemson men’s track & field coach Bob Pollock will be inducted into the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
