Meet Information
Key West XCursion is now officially back on for Saturday 9/24, on The Gauntlet at Key West Golf Club.
As usual, it will be a 7:30 a.m. start for Girls, 8:15 for Boys. Unlimited runners in each race (only 7 count, of course). Prizes to top teams and individuals. Tie-dye meet shirts for sale. It's typically a small meet, with 4-8 teams competing, though the course can easily handle a dozen.
And -- get this -- there is NO entry fee! Use that money for gas or food instead.
Teams from all classes are welcome. In recent years, the field has included Hagerty, Wiregrass Ranch, Timber Lake, Park Vista, Gulf, Coral Shores, Satelite, Baker, Godby, Wellington, and, of course, the Key West Conchs. We run a good meet. ask any of them. It's a great strength tune-up the week before flat-n-fast FLrunners.
Host Hotel will be the Doubletree Grand Key. At present, last year's $99/night for a 2 dbl-bed room (includes breakfast buffet and parking) will be a go again.
On the bad news side, the bunkhouse at KWHS will NOT be available this year. Those of you who have seen it will probably realize that this really is no great loss.
We also have a deal with Fury Watersports for a discount snorkel trip on the reef for Saturday afternoon.
Give your team a treat and come on down for a weekend. Stay Friday and Saturday nights, run on a challenging course with 14 years of tradition, and just enjoy the Keys vibe for a little while.
