Lake Wales senior Paul Stafford had one goal in mind at the 2A Region 3 Championship and that was to set the Holloway Park course record set by Adam Bradtmueller. He did just that running a very impressive 15:49.93 and his second consecutive regional title.

Lake Wales sophomore Paul Stafford didn't have a freshman season he'd like to remember. After running 4:18 for 1,500m as an 8th grader and member of the Central Florida Gliders club team, he was hoping to be one of the top youngsters in the state. However, a torn hamstring derailed those plans and had Stafford staying home during the state meet. He's proven he's back after running 16:25 in a recent workout and hopes to shake up the 2A rankings. We caught up with Stafford to talk about his training, the upcoming season, and more.
With all the regional action taking place last week, the 400m final results from the Class 2A Region 3 meet might have slipped under the radar. Making her mark at Berkeley Prep in Tampa last Thursday, was Lake Wales sophomore Mariah Walker. Walker has come, seemingly out of nowhere, to take over the best 400m time in the state of Florida and the third-best time in the United States this season. Lined up against 2014 400m state champ Janae Caldwell of Spoto, Walker surged out in front.

Former Lake Wales and UCF sprinter Octavious Freeman has turned professional. According to Icon Management President and CEO Kimberly Holland as well as Freeman's step dad Stan Smith, the sophomore will be represented by Icon Management.
Lake Wale's senior Sabria Hadley has ended her college recruitment. Hadley has been a standout for Lake Wales over the past two years. As a sophomore she was a member of the gold medal winning 4x100 relay. As a junior, she won the 200 meter dash and anchored the runner-up 4x100 team. Recently, she announced that she will be attending Clemson University to be a Tiger and continue her running career.
Former Lake Wales star Octavious Freeman is making a name for herself on the collegiate stage. Freeman is the latest runner to be added to The Bowerman Women's Watch List.
