In His Own Words: Ari Cogdell - County Championships

Hey Flrunners, so basically there are county championships tomorrow and it's going to be my first real 400m of the year since I strained my hamstring at the Louie Bing Invitational in the 100m. I know you all are thinking "Ari, what are you doing running the 100m anyways?"

I haven't really set any specific times I want to hit this meet which you shouldn't do anyway, but I just hope I can finish the 400m as efficient and healthy as possible. I hope to progress from this time of the year at the same time as previous years. As a freshman at this meet I went 51.5, sophomore year I went 48.8, and last year I ran 47.7.

Enough about me, last year at GMAC Championships we won the meet as a collective for the first time in school history. As I date back to my past articles we want to “Reign Supreme". This year is a bit different though last year we had were a very versatile team succeeding in the sprints, jumps, hurdles and relays. This year we aren't as sufficient in the jumps at this meet, but we counteract that with being deep in the sprints.

All of the teams at the GMAC Championships will bring their "A" game and all the spectators will bring their popcorn and camcorders because there will be times just as blazing as the temperature in South Florida.
