IMG Academy to host 2017 Florida High School Track and Field State Championships

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - After roughly 11,000 people attended the 2016 Florida High School Track and Field State Championships this past May, the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) announced Wednesday that IMG Academy in Bradenton will again host the event next spring.

"We are thrilled to be returning to IMG Academy for a second straight year," said FHSAA Executive Director Dr. Roger Dearing. "Thanks to the state-of-the-art facility as well as the great hospitality shown to all participants this past May, we did not think twice about going back to Bradenton."

The 2017 state meet will take place May 5-6 at the IMG Academy Stadium, where fans will enjoy completed venue enhancements to IMG Academy's West Campus. More parking will be provided in addition to an increased capacity for ingress and egress. For the second-consecutive year, the schedule of events will feature a format in which all four classifications for both girls and boys compete simultaneously over the two-day period.
