Highlights of the FHSAA 4A State Championship

The Boys 4A team title came down to the 4x400m Relay.  Going into the final race of the day, the Christopher Columbus boys held a 2-point lead over the Niceville boys.  In one of the best and closest races of all four days, Niceville's Dawson Isbell and Columbus' Adrian Cardero fought down the final 50m with Niceville holding on to take second creating a tie for the 4A Boys team title! 

Here are just a few of the other top performances in the 4A State Championships.

Flagler Palm Coast's Jr. Colby Cronk went over 60' in the Shot Put with a toss of 19.22m (63-00.75).

Palm Harbor University's Rachael Uvieghara defended her 100m and 200m 2023 titles.  The USC commit won the 100m and the 200m running 11.72 and 23.70 respectively.

In the 100m, Lee Prince Jr., a Freshman from St. Thomas Aquinas won the 100m from lane 1 with a time of 10.77.  Prince was 2nd in the 200m with a 21.49. (photos is of 200 finish)

Sr. Evan Fleming of Buchholz took the 1600m-800m double.  Fleming who is headed to the Unv. of Florida ran a 4:14.96 in the 1600m and came back with a closing kick in the 800 to win in 1:54.50 over Dawson Isbell of Niceville who ran 1:54.60.

The other double winner was So. Alyson Johnson of Creekside who won her third and 4th State championships as she defended her win last year in the 1600m and the 3200m.  Johnson was dominant in both races, running 4:53.34 and 10:30.54.
