Bolles' Charles Hicks 4th Sophomore In Florida History To Make It To Nationals In San Diego

Bolles sophomore Charles Hicks added his name to a long line of Florida distance runners who have qualified for Foot Locker Nationals in San Diego. Hicks placed 9th at Foot Locker South to become just the 4th 10th grader from the Sunshine State to advance. Ricky Quintana looks at Hicks accomplishment from a historical perspective.

By The Numbers:

He became the  38th boy qualifier from Florida. It was the 45th time a boy has qualified for Foot Locker Nationals. Florida has qualified a boy 27 times in the 37 year Foot Locker History. This is the third longest streak of qualifiers in Florida history with four years straight. The longest streak was 1987-1993- 8 years followed by 1979-1984- 6 years. In those years, there were only eight qualifiers

Charles Hicks became the fourth tenth grader in Florida history to qualify for Foot Locker Nationals. Previous tenth graders and their place are as follows.
