How She Got Here: 5th at Foot Locker South Regional in 17:30.
Her Resume: The Newsome senior and Indiana University signee has been the most dominant cross country athlete in the state of Florida over the last three years winning three straight 4A cross country finals and nearly every race she competes in. She was 7th at Foot Locker Regionals last year and 20th in San Diego.
National Outlook: Hertenstein has been in San Diego before. In 2016, as a junior at Riverview High School she was 20th best in the nation. She told us at a recent workout, that she is is hoping to improve on her finish from last year and be competitive with the best in the country. Look for her and Alyssa Hendrix to push each other. The former teammates and current training partners have been getting the best of each other all season long.
