The FHSAA made an unexpected announcement tonight, publicly stating that it has selected its top choice for the state cross country meet: Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee.
Though it is not 100% final, the only thing yet to be worked out are the details of the contract. The negotiations with Tallahassee Sports Council begin now and are expected to be officially signed by August 1.
The choice should make a lot of flrunners users happy: 68% of our poll respondants stated that Apalachee Park was their top choice, with Daytona Beach receiving 22% of the vote and Gainesville rinigng in with 10%.
Coaches will be relieved to have the decision public so that they can begin properly planning their fall schedules.
