3A Girls Rankings:

By: Andy Holmes, Seffner Christian aholmes@scacrusaders.com

We have finally made it to districts! Coaches are preparing their teams for districts this week. This week I am going 24 deep with my team rankings, to more simulate who will make it to the state meet. As much as possible, rankings are based on head-to-head competition between schools. Looking at the district breakdown, there may be some pretty good teams not qualify for regional or state due to the competition. 3A Region 1 definitely springs to mind. This week we have some more teams stating their case to be ranked by virtue of the past 2 weeks perfomances. Most of the rankings will be based on the Conference, County, and City championships that were run this past week

I don't know if Kelly Hensley was considered for 2A girls ranking, but she has run 20:11 and 19:32 in the past two meets.
  • RayRodriguez / 5 Years Ago
    Yep, good call.

I overlooked her, but saw the team.

I would put her #17 right behind Kaitlyn Martin from Cypress Lake, and bump everyone behind her down one.

    Dave,

I saw your time and great effort for sure. I sent you a private message explaining my reasoning for the individual rankings this week.

    Thanks,
    Chris

Why is Chiles' 3rd guy ranked ahead of people who beat him 2 weeks ago and his teammates own not ranked at all?

I'm not hating on HT by any means, but in the 1a rankings, it says that HT is super deep in comparison with any other 1A team. Trinity Prep, by my math, is only 5 points down from them through 4 guys. I don't know what the 5th guys look like, but based on what I see I wouldn't count them out yet. Both teams have always done a good job of finishing strong at the end of the year. I'm very excited to see these two teams face off.

Odds are that Father Vinal had him do that. They easily pounded us both times that we raced them this year so my guess is we was trying to pour a little gas on the Gousse Fire. If we hold on to a top 2 finish I will be very proud of my young crew.
