3A Girls: Region By Region Virtual Meets Todd Grasley Feb 09, 2017

The East Lake girls are projected to win 3A Region 3 by four points over Ft. Myers according to our region by region virtual meets. Multi-event athlete Kaitlyn Kirby will be a major factor in that, ranked in the top four in four events. Girls Middle School Rankings: Tamari Davis Legacy Lasts One More Year Todd Grasley Feb 06, 2017

Abraham Lincoln Middle School 8th grader Tamari Davis isn't just one of the best youngsters in Florida, but in the country as well. Last year, she won both the 100 and 200 at the FLYRA Middle School State Championship. Davis then went onto set PR's of 23.94 for 200m at Flo Golden South and 11.77 at the Adidas Boost Boston Games Dream 100 where she finished third against the best high school sprinters in the U.S. We rank the top 50 6th, 7th, and 8th grade girls in EVER event. Bold Prediciton: Tyrese Cooper Will Defeat Collegiate & Professional Athletes In NYC Todd Grasley Feb 03, 2017

When sixteen year old Tyrese Cooper steps onto the famed Armory Track in New York for this weekend's Armory Track Invitational he won't be racing against his high school peers. Cooper, who last raced at the venue a year ago at New Balance Indoor Nationals, has his eyes set on the stars of the next level, the best the college and the pro ranks have to offer.

Cooper feels he belongs and why shouldn't he? As a freshman, he set indoor national records in the 60m, 200, and 400. Three weeks ago at the VA Showcase he made even more history, blazing an US#2 All-Time 500m mark of 1:01.88 to go with a National Record 33.03 in the 300m dash.


Fort Myer's Gear Sets Wheels In Motion: Signs With Furman Todd Grasley Feb 03, 2017

Fort Myers senior Krissy Gear didn't rush the recruiting process opting to sign this Wednesday instead of the November early signing period. Gear, a three-time state champion, winning the 1,600 m in 2015, and the 1,600m and 3,200 in 2016, decided to continue her running career at Furman University. We talked to her about the recruiting process, what sold her on becoming a Paladin, and her plans for 2017.
