Best Of Last Decade Indoors: Girls Field Todd Grasley Dec 30, 2015

Nicole Greene of Ponte Vedra and current freshman at UNC won New Balance Nationals Indoors a year ago clearing 6'0.5". Greene is also second on the list in the long jump and sixth in the triple jump. Florida doesn't have a true indoor season, but that didn't stop us from taking a look at the fastest times/marks in each discipline over the last decade. Kali Davis-White is well represented on our list of the top indoor times in the last decade by Floridians. White, who transferred from FSU to the University of Tennessee this year, won the Brooks PR Invitational 60m dash before taking home a national title (New Balance Indoors) in the 200m. Her time of 23.48 ranks number one on our list ahead of former Boyd Anderson teammate Shayla Sanders' best of 23.89 set in 2012. The Passing of Pat Petersen - A Long Island Legend Ralph Epifanio Dec 23, 2015

Earlier this year, I attended the funeral of an old friend, Pat Petersen. Although almost exactly ten years younger than me--with athletic abilities light years ahead--we were both products of that golden age of running which occurred (roughly) from the late-1970s to the early 90s. This was before running became the professional, corporate-sponsored, ego-centric, elitist sport of today. In those days, we "raced with the stars." Our heroes met on Wednesday evenings at the high school track for speed work, and on Sunday mornings at the local running store for long runs.

State Meet Schedule Released: Prelims Friday, Finals Saturday, Are You A Fan?! Todd Grasley Dec 20, 2015

The schedule for the 2016 FHSAA Track & Field State Championships at the IMG Academy in Bradenton has been released. Prelims for all-classes will take place on Friday, May 6th with the finals for all-classes on Saturday, May 7th. Several members of the running community have weighed in on their opinions. Brandon Marquez admits his high school running career has been a roller coaster with impressive times and near misses at major meets like Foot Locker South. However, he says he wouldn't change what he's been through. Recently, the Timber Creek senior, who spent the last two years competing unattached announced that he will continue his running career at Columbia University in New York.

Lauren Archer At Home At Dartmouth College, Commits To Big Green Todd Grasley Dec 19, 2015

Ransom Everglades senior Lauren Archer is one of the most versatile distance runners in the state owning personal bests of 2:12.20 (800m), 5:00.33 (1,600m), and 18:34.00 (5K). Archer owns four top five finishes in the 800m at state, two top five finishes in the 1,600m, and has placed in the top 20 five times at the Cross Country Finals. Recently, she announced her college commitment to attend Dartmouth College of the Ivy League.

Chamberlain standout and UF commit Maggie Parrish grew up surrounded by success. The senior, one of the most successful female distance runner Chamberlain has ever seen, grew up watching older brother Mark Parrish excel in his running career at both Chamberlain and UF. Mark, a UF grad, holds three UF school records and All-American status in the 3000m steeplechase.
