2016 All Flrunners.com Boys Cross Country Team - Third Team Todd Grasley Dec 20, 2016

Over the next three days we will be unveiling our All Flrunners.com 2016 Cross Country Team. We start out with our third team athletes. 2016 was an incredible year filled with talented runners so not everyone could make our list. We want to thank the running community for a fantastic season and congratulations to the following athletes!



Meet Melvin Briley: US#1 TJ 49'1.25 Todd Grasley Dec 20, 2016

If you've never heard the name Melvin Briley, you might not be alone. The Oakleaf High School junior barely made it out of 4A Region 1 in the triple jump and didn't advance past districts in the long jump. His personal bests of 45'9.75" and 21'05" are respectable, but not in the top ten marks in Florida. However, after his showing at the Galleria Games in Alabama, he definitely shot on our radar.


Coaching Champions: Trinity Prep Boys Todd Grasley Dec 19, 2016

The Trinity Prep Saints flexed their muscles once more as they claimed their 4th consecutive 2A Cross Country Finals state championship. Longtime Coach Ken Vinal carried the team mid way through the season and then had to step down mid-season due to personal reasons. Mike Hill who coached Winter Park to a powerhouse program in the 2000's took over the reigns. We caught up with both of them to talk about this season and the team's road to the top of the podium.


Week in Review: Indoor Openers, MS XC Championships Todd Grasley Dec 19, 2016

Chauncy Smart and Tariq Evans kicked off their indoor campaigns with wins at the Galleria Games in Alabama. Several Jacksonville athletes headed to NC for the NCRunners Holiday Invitational, while middle school cross country wrapped up for Seminole County athletes. Holy Trinity Senior Samantha Selects Georgia Tech Todd Grasley Dec 16, 2016

Samantha Folio has been a fixture of 1A power Holy Trinity since she was 43rd as a 7th grader in 2011. The next four years she finished in the top 25, and ended her senior cross country season as the state runner-up. Recently, the Tigers standout announced she will continue her athletic and academic journey at Georgia Tech. We caught up with her to talk about the decision, her time at Holy Trinity, the upcoming track season, and much more.


Holloway Gives Thanks, Touches Hearts with Hall of Fame Speech Todd Grasley Dec 15, 2016

True to his character, Mike Holloway used his USTFCCCA Coaches Hall of Fame induction speech to celebrate everyone who helped and supported him throughout his legendary career, and warmed everyone's hearts with his recollection of an emotional moment he and his mother shared over 40 years ago. Coaching Champions: St. Thomas Aquinas Boys Todd Grasley Dec 15, 2016

The St. Thomas Aquinas boys made it two in a row when they tallied 82 points to win the 4A Cross Country Finals over Lakewood Ranch by 95 points. The Raiders were led by Nicholas Rischar (3rd) and Antonio Martinez at the front of their line up. Coach Joe Hazera talks about this year's squad and their journey to repeat state champions.
