Salute To Seniors: Ellyn Snider - Spanish River High School

What was your most memorable race?

My most memorable race was regionals 2012. It was beautiful out and almost everyone on my team PR-ed.  I broke 19 minutes for the first time.

Who would you consider your biggest competition over your four years?

My biggest competition was my own teammate, Catherine V.

What was your greatest accomplishment?

The greatest accomplishment had to be winning the FACA All Star race.

If you could do it all over again what would you change about your running career in high school?

I have no regrets.

What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome?

I had a lot of obstacles I had to overcome; anorexia, Swine Flu, low iron levels, and  micro tears in the hamstring. I definitely went through some tough times. Overcoming them only made me stronger.

What will you miss the most?

The love and support of my team.

What advice you would give to younger athletes?

The advice I would give would be to EAT and EAT WELL.

What influence has your coach had with respect to your performance and overall life goals?

My coach was always there for me to support me and guide me through the good and the bad.  He was a second father to me and I couldn't thank him enough.

What are your college plans?

I am attending UT Austin! Hopefully I'll be running cross country there in the fall. Hook 'em horns! m/

Who would you like to say thank you to?

I would like to say thank you to my wonderful mother, father, coaches, and teammates.

Is there anything else you'd like to add?

The running community is one of the friendliest and supportive communities out there and I am so honored to be a part of it.
