What was your most memorable race?
My most memorable race was the Tri-County Championship in my sophomore year. I was our seventh-eighth man and our fourth man was out for the race. I was Columbus’ number four that race and we ended up winning the meet by one point. it was the race that really sparked my running career at Columbus.
Who would you consider your biggest competition over your four years?
I would consider my teammates my biggest competition. Especially sophomore year were we’d push each other run faster in practice. Some practices would get pretty competitive and fast.
What was your greatest accomplishment?
My greatest accomplishment was helping Columbus in 2010 win a state championship and being a part of the three state titles in a row.
If you could do it all over again what would you change about your running career in high school?
I’d probably change how I approached my freshmen year of cross-country. I probably should have been more serious about running that year.
What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome?
The most difficult obstacle was weighing 110lbs. Its hard to make it through a whole season when you don’t have a lot of reserves left in the tank.
What will you miss the most?
The Hellion mentality the team had. The team was truly a big brotherhood from the runners to the coaches.
What advice you would give to younger athletes?
Run hard, strive for greatness, and enjoy every second of it, because those four years fly by!
What influence has your coach had with respect to your performance and overall life goals?
Both my coaches have had a huge influence on me on and off the track. I’m the runner and person I am today because of all the time and support they’ve given me for four years.
What are your college plans?
I’ll be attending and running for Florida International University.
Who would you like to say thank you to?
I would like to thank my parents, sister, and family for the commitment and support they gave me all four years. My friends for the huge amount of support they have given me. My coaches for believing in me and having my back for all four years. My teammates and their families for everything they’ve done for me. Lastly, my middle school coach, Coach Tarrats, for always being there for me even after I graduated 8th grade.
