Daeshon Gordon Victorious At Jamaican National Junior Trials

While most of the Sunshine State's top athletes were competing at New Balance Outdoor Nationals in North Carolina, Boyd Anderson's Daeshon Gordon was competing against Jamaica's top athletes. Gordon whose dad is from Jamaica, was at the National Junior Trials in Kingston.

The 4A state champion in the 300m hurdles and runner-up in the 100 meter distance showed she could compete with her fellow Jamaicans. On Saturday, she won the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 58.92, a new personal best by two seconds. For comparison sake, her time would have given her the National Championship this weekend in North Carolina.

The junior, came back Sunday for the 100 meter hurdles and finished fourth with a time of 13.70, another new personal best.

Athletes are hoping to hit qualifying times for both the World Youth and Pan-Am Juniors Championships later this summer.
