What was your most memorable race?
The district cross country race my senior year. I had my whole school, faculty, friends, and coaches there to cheer me on and I finished fourth and qualified for regionals that race.
Who would you consider your biggest competition over your four years?
My biggest competition was Zack Fincher. He was my teammate and a great one at that, but he always tried to beat me, and thats what made me push myself to do better.
What was your greatest accomplishment?
My greatest accomplishment was receiving a scholarship based on my running ability.
If you could do it all over again what would you change about your running career in high school?
I would have ran over the summers of my freshman and sophomore year. If I trained during those summers I would have been a lot faster.
What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome?
The most difficult obstacle I had to overcome was being my own worst critique. I needed to learn how to except defeat and overcome it.
What will you miss the most?
I will miss my team and coaches. I'll miss seeing them everyday and all our interactions. It was the most comfortable atmosphere I could be in and enjoyed more than anything everyday.
What advice would you give younger athletes?
I would say run everyday. It may be tiring and boring but it pays off in the end and you will develop a love for the sport of track and field.
What influence has your coach had with respect to your performance and overall life goals?
Coach Pitts is the most influential coach in high school track. He made sure I stayed focused on what I was trying to achieve everyday and was always picking me up to help me more, even if I were in a bad mood.
What are your college plans?
I plan to run for Northwood University, obtain a business degree, and own my own business.
Who would you like to say thank you to?
I would like to say thank you to my mother, father, the rest of my family, Coach Pitts, Coach Gore, Coach Murphey, Sydney Alencewicz, Zack Fincher, Justin Alden, Zach Maxwell and Eugene Gibson. These are the most wonderful people in my life and made the best four years of running for me unforgettable. I love everyone of them with all my heart and thank them for everything they have done for me

I couldn't have asked for a better running experience and it's something I will always carry with me in my heart.
