Based on my email inbox, there is certainly much hype about this year's Race of Champions and the meet has easily surpassed last year's entry numbers. We now award the next three spots into the coveted Race of Champions.
We release these prior to today's big Saturday Invitationals. There will be an additional three girls spots and four boys spots awarded. Bishop Kenny boys will not be attending as previously announced (only their girls), so that makes one additional boys spot.
Notably in these three spots, you see the entry of St. Thomas Aquinas. The team really wanted to get into this race and convinced Coach Trish Butler to enter them this week. Their girls team has been the center of much excitement coming into this season, and now their boys are looking really great also after their big win at UF last week!
The other teams teams on this round have all been making some noise and showing they are ready to try to battle the state's big guns.
Good luck to everyone! We will announce the last round no later than Monday, along with the complete list of teams in all races Monday or Tuesday. Keep in mind also, we have some really big name individuals entering the Race of Champions to ensure that the individual races are living up to the storied history of the ROC! We'll announce those this coming week too! And other great announcements and meet previews.
