Florida Weekend Preview: Who\'s Racing Where?

UF Mountain Dew Classic

This is the only "official meet" this weekend. It received a waiver from the FHSAA to be held early. So these schools will be competing in their team jerseys as a regular season meet. And the turn out has been great. Many of the top teams will face off giving a good out of the gate preview for this season!

These entries are official as published by Half Mile Timing.

Space Coast Jamboree

For the most part, this is a replay of last weekend's Wickham Park Jamboree. Some new teams will be added, while some others from last week will be at UF but it will be another great matchup of the Greater Brevard County area schools.

These entries are just a guess based on tradition and who's not going to UF!

Mike Gibson Lake Mary Summertime Run

Now named for Lake Mary's long time (now retired) coach Mike Gibson, the Lake Mary Summertime Run is a long time traditional season opener for Seminole County schools and some Orange and Volusia County teams as well. It's held on the shady grounds of the park behind Lake Mary HS. It usually has some pretty good times.

These are also non-official team entries that are just based on which athletes tend to show up.

Gator Creek 5K Run

This is a new one on me. I'm not sure who to expect at this one but based on its location in Lakeland it could see several Polk County and Hillsborough County teams open here.

Carrollton Invitational (Georgia)

A posts on the forum suggests that there will be some Florida teams traveling to Georgia this weekend, including Holy Trinity and Chiles.
