Host West Florida Tech Wins West Florida XC Jamboree, FWB Girls Just Miss Perfect Score

The host West Florida Tech boys won the
West Florida XC Jamboree
, while the Fort Walton Beach girls scored 16 points, just missing out on a perfect day! Coach Jeffrey Oliver recaps all the action!

This morning I had the pleasure of hosting the West Florida XC Jamboree. It was a small five school meet here in Pensacola but it certainly didn't lack in competition. The course runs a bit slow with big sections of beach like footing and of course we had the blazing heat that the rest of Florida has but we still managed to have 17 girls break 23 minutes led by an extremely impressive Fort Walton Beach squad. I am going to go ahead and declare it, the girls at Fort Walton Beach will be in the running for a state title this year! They almost had a perfect score going 1,2,3,5,7! Led by super star Emma Rudman who we all know is one of the best in the State! In the team standings Choctawatchee finished a strong second led by the twins Shelby and Shawna Lindsay. West Florida, currently rebuilding after graduating half of their varsity finished third led by freshman Mallory Mott.

On the boys side it was the West Florida show. Like Fort Walton beach on the girls side, West Florida took the individual title with Alex Bullock and the team title with 5 in the top 11. Second in team scoring was Fort Walton Beach, who are also in the process of rebuilding but the fields coaching duo over at Fort Walton Beach certainly has them on the right track. They were led by Jefferson Hobbs and he had a tight pack of teammates running with him. The third place team was local rival Pine Forest led by a duo of Donte Howard (4th) and Stefan Pressley (8th). All in all it was a great race and we are already looking forward to our next one.
