Flrunners.com: What was your most memorable race/moment?
Kali Clemmer: My most memorable race moment would have to be during my sophomore year, when I won districts because it really made me realize how far I've come.
FLR: Who would you consider your biggest competition over the last four years?
KC: My biggest competition would have to be Newsome, just because they are Bloomingdale's rivals in every sport and they always have a fantastic group of runners.
FLR: What was your greatest accomplishment?
KC: My greatest accomplishment would definitely have to be completing all 4 years without injuries.
FLR: If you could do it all again what would you change about running in high school?
KC: If I got to do it all over again, I would push myself to run more on weekends, and to realize that you have to train on your own in addition to practice.
FLR: What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome?
KC: The most difficult obstacle I had to overcome was myself. I always thought if I don't PR then I'm not improving but really, running is much of a mental sport as it is a physical sport.
FLR: What will you miss the most?
KC: I'm going to miss my team the most, they are truly my best friends and I don't know what I'm going to do without them training right by my side every day.
FLR: What advice you would give to younger athletes?
KC: To younger athletes, I would say to keep up with your training schedule and don't skip practice. Your coach really does know you best and don't over train.
FLR: What influence has your coach had with respect to your performance and overall life goals?
KC: My coaches are the ones I give credit to when it comes to my performance, without them I probably wouldn't be running. They made me into the runner and person I am today.
FLR: What are your college plans?
KC: For college, I am attending Mars Hill University in North Carolina and I will be running cross country and track there.
FLR: Who would you like to say thank you to?
KC: I would like to thank my coaches for creating a runner out of me and my parents for forcing me to join cross country freshman year. Also, my teammates for pushing me, making practice a good time, and run faster at races, and always getting the best out of me.
FLR: Is there anything else you'd like to add?
KC: I would like to add that it has been a fantastic four years and I hope everyone gets a chance to be a part of something great like the sport of running at some time or another.
