Briana Williams, Khalifa St. Fort Golden At Trinidad & Tobago National Junior Championships

Just two weeks after setting a new personal best of 11.47 at Flo Golden South, Briana Williams was back on the track. The nation's fastest freshman was an invited guest at the Trinidad and Tobago National Junior Championships and walked off the island with the win in the U18 100m dash in a time of 11.55, her second fastest time ever. Williams will face her biggest test of her young racing career at the upcoming JAAA National Junior Trials where she will go head to head with 15 year old Carifta champion Kevona Davis who has run 11.42s.

"Depending
on how she does this weekend, she has both Pan Am Juniors and the Youth Commonwealth Games in the Bahamas," coach Ato Boldon said. "Obviously we expect she will make the team since she is consistently 11.4/11.5 now."

Also under the direction of Trinidad and Tobago Olympian Ato Boldon and the Born 2 Do It training group, was U20 champion Khalifa St. Fort and Sarah Wollaston. St. Fort capped off the sweep of Boldon's athletes in a time of 11.40s while Wollaston ran a new PR of 11.87. Due to a lack of time in between the 100 and 200 Wollaston was the only athlete to compete in the event. She finished fourth.

Next up for St. Fort will be Pan Am Juniors where she hopes to defend her 100m title before competing in the Trinidad & Tobago National Championships. The former Florida prep standout is already a part of the country's relay pool for the World Championships in London, but is hoping to qualify in the top three and earn an individual spot as well.
