The Mt. Dora Christian Academy boys were deadlocked in a three-way tie for first place coming down to the final event the 4x400m relay at last year's state championship. The bad news? The squad didn't have a relay team to compete, turning their podium dreams into a fifth place finish. They return a distance heavy squad that won the Cross Country Finals and also state champion thrower Jesiah Pierre. MDCA beat TFA at the regional meet, but the Royals hope to ride sophomore Alex Shields back to prominence. We take a look at the top returning boys teams in 1A.
