American Heritage senior Anthony Schwartz had the fastest time coming into Friday's 100m prelim at the Louie Bing Classic. His 10.15 from last year's Florida Relays, was the 7th fastest mark in high school history, but I think he may have even surprised himself going 10.38 into a -2.9 m/s wind! The World Youth Record Holder took to social media afterwards.
Last year, after his 10.15 at Florida Relays he told us he had hoped to run close to 10 seconds or even 9.9 before his high school career was over.
At the 2017 Louie Bing Classic, he battled a negative wind, but only ran 10.62 and 10.54. If this is any indication of what we can expect in the finals, look for the marks to improve as he will line up against some of the best sprinters in the country including teammate Tyson Campbell, Miramar's Terrence Horne Jr. and Taylor Banks, as well as Braddock's duo of Steven Stallings and Jason Reese.
