About The Nominees:
Stone Baker- the senior from River Ridge HS took the best pole vault mark of the week when he jumped 15-10. Baker vaulted at the East Lake Early Bird Meet. Baker also now holds the #1 pole vault mark among all classifications in FL.
Melvin Briley- the senior from Oakleaf HS continued to own the triple jump as he took the win at the Ridgeview Invitational. Briley jumped 47-5.75 to claim the best triple jump mark in the state of FL. The South Florida signee is also the returning 4A Triple Jump Individual State Champion.
Donald Chaney- the sophomore from Belen Jesuit took the high jump win at the Louie Bing Classic. He jumped 6-10 to open the season with a huge PR and the best high jump mark in the state of FL.
Tyrese Cooper- the junior from Miami Norland HS switched it up a bit as he ran the 800 as well as his normal 400 at the Louie Bing Classic. Cooper's 400 was the fastest of the weekend as he blazed a 46.54 and also ran a notable 1:57.93 in the 800.
Milton Ingraham- the senior from Hallandale HS dominated in the shot put and the discus at the Louie Bing Classic. Ingraham threw 55-2 feet in the shot, and then 189-1 feet in the discus, as he leads the state in the discus and shot put.
Amari Johnson- the junior from Hallandale HS took the 300 hurdles at the Louie Bing Classic with a time of 37.67. Johnson's time was the fastest of the weekend and also the fastest of the year in the state.
Nathan Jubran- the senior from Bishop Kenny took the best 1600 time of the weekend with a 4:17.35, at the Bartram Bear Classic in Jacksonville.The senior from Bishop Kenny is headed to UNF and is coming off a 3rd place showing at the 2A XC Finals.
Jekhary Long- it was the senior from Sandalwood HS in Jacksonville who took this weekend's fastest 110 hurdle time as he ran a 14.16. Long took the win at the Sandalwood Saints Home Meet and the time was the fastest in FL this year.
Anthony Schwartz- the Auburn signee got back to his dominating ways at the Louie Bing Classic as he won the 100 and the 200. The senior from American Heritage set the best 100m dash time of the weekend with a 10.33, and the best 200 meter dash time with a 20.91.
Tyree Simeon- when it came to the best of the 800 it was not Cooper, but the senior from Northeast HS who won the 800 at the Louie Bing Classic in a time of 1:55.02. Siemon out kicked Piper HS Sukeil Foucha on his way to taking home the win.
Ryan Szklany- One athlete this weekend went sub 9:30 in the 3200 and it was the senior from Highlands Christian. The Embry-Riddle signee showed up and showed out at the Louie Bing Classic where he won with a time of 9:25.58.
Charles Ward- the junior from Sarasota HS took the long jump best of the weekend at the George Jenkins Invitational. Ward jumped 23-4.75 as he has the best mark in the long jump in FL.
