Geiger had a record setting cross country season. From winning his first ever individual cross country state title with a time of 15:26.35 on the Apalachee Regional Park course, to winning the Flrunners.com Race of Champions with a new Holloway Park course record, competing and winning the FSU Pre-State Invitational against a stacked field, to setting another course record at the North Port Invitational, Geiger showed what he was made of this fall.
In 2016, Geiger ran a personal best time of 16:37 at the FHSAA Cross Country State Finals. In three seasons, he dropped that personal record by over a minute to not only win the coveted state title, but also lead his Robinson squad to a state runner-up finish -- the first in school history. In fact, he was the first individual at Robinson to win a cross country state title in 29 years.
He joins recent Florida winners: Charles Hicks, Michael Phillips, Caleb Pottorff, Steven Cross, and Sukhi Khosla as this year's Gatorade runner of the year.
This outdoor season the future Gator will look to defend his 3200m state title and finish out his record breaking senior year.
