Florida's reigning Gatorade Athlete of the Year for track & field from 2020 in Miami Southridge's Alyssa Jones is already building up her résumé to earn a second straight great honor after starting off her 2021 outdoor seasons successfully. At the Warriors Preseason Meet this past weekend, the junior Jones leaped to a state-best mark of 5.87 meters (19'3.25") in the long jump while also sprinting to times of 7.50 in the 60-meter dash and 39.07 in the 300-meter dash.
