Top Girls To Watch At Golden South Series #3

Chelsi Williams (McKeel Academy) - Girls 100H

The remarkable talented eighth-grader hurdler in Chelsi Williams won the 1A girls 100-meter hurdles title earlier this month in a wind-legal personal best clocking of 14.15. Florida was so dominant in the national rankings this year when it came to the girls hurdles with the likes of Eddiyah Frye, Alexis Glasco, Amanda Kinloch, and Lucheyona Weaver.

With all of those mentioned girls graduating, look to someone like Williams with still four years of high school remaining to take over as one of the state's leading stars in the hurdles. Williams lost only one race this season in the 100-meter hurdles as a consistent performer in the 14-second range.

While she did not compete in the FLYRA State Champs this past weekend even though she would have been eligible too, Williams won the 2019 FLYRA state title in the 100-meter hurdles impressively as a sixth-grader two years ago.
