It did not take long for Amber Schulz to shake off the race rust. After missing virtually the entire 2021 outdoor season due to injury, the defending 4A state champ from Timber Creek broke 19 minutes in her second race back with an 18:55 runner-up finish at the Cecil Field Summer Classic. She should only continue to improve week to week after the long layoff.
