Her senior season of cross country had not been exactly what she wanted and hoped for coming off a foot injury at the end of her track season, but Caroline Lehman of Cambridge Christian got stronger each week building up her training to be in a position to repeat as the 1A state champion in cross country with a season-best time of 17:53 on Friday at the FHSAA State Finals with her teammate and another stellar senior in Mary Ellen Eudaly as her closest competition in second place at 18:09. Their times were more impressive coming as the last girls' race of the state meet in the warmest part of the day.
