Tasty Race: Micayah Holland Breaks Louie Bing 100m Record

In the finals of the girls 100-meter dash at the Louie Bing Invitational, Montverde Academy junior Micayah Holland broke the meet record with a personal best and national leading wind-legal time of 11.64. She broke the meet record held by a former Miami Northwestern great in Twanisha Terry, who had the previous fastest wind-legal time in meet history at 11.79 from the 2016 meet.

Louie Bing is always an early season collection of some of Florida's fastest sprinters and for Holland to post the kind of victory and performance that she did over the field that she was facing in the finals with virtually entire sub 12 second capable talent bodes well as starts to establish herself in her new state.

Holland comes to Montverde Academy from Virginia, where she attended Princess Anne High School in Virginia Beach and was a state champion indoors in the 55 meter dash and outdoors in the 100 and 200 meter dash.

She certainly has an opportunity to become an FHSAA 2A state champion in the 100-meter dash this spring and potentially in the 200-meter dash as well after running 24.49 at Louie Bing Classic for 4th place, which ranks 2nd fastest in the classification currently.
