Lake Minneola's Kai Evans runs 51.77 US #1 400mH

Lake Minneloa Jr. Kai Evans ran a new US#1 51.77 400mH at the IMG Spring Break Invitational. As we complete week 4 in the Florida outdoor season Evans is on the verge of going sub-51. Last summer he went 51.18, FL #4 All-Time, in winning the AAU Junior Olympic Games. Last spring he was the 3A State 400mH Champion (52.35) and the New Balance Nationals Outdoor Champion (51.44).  WATCH Kai Evans US #1 400mH Race!

Three other Florida runners have gone sub-51 in arguably the toughest running event in T&F. Bershawn Jackson of Central Miami ran a 50.00 in 2002 at the IAAF World Junior Championships.  Thomas Burns of Miami Northwestern went 50.12 in 2018 at the USATF Junior National Outdoor T&F Championships and TJ Holmes of Lakewood went 50.61 in 2013 at the New Balance Outdoor Nationals.
