Mantecon Wins and Leads Belen to Great American Team Title

So. Marcelo Mantecon of Belen Jesuit Preparatory School  showing his determination and mid-season conditioning wins at the Great American XC Festival in Cary, NC. Mantecon took the lead by the 1600m mark and pressed the pace throughout the race winning by just over 10 seconds in 14:40.20. Sr. Soheib Dissa of Newtown High School in Sandy Hook, CT. was 2nd in 14:50.50.

Mantecon led the Belen team to a win, displaying why they are one of the nations top teams. Belen won with a score of 152, going 1+28+29+41+53 (74+88) with  a 1-5 split of 1:20 and an Ave Time of 15:35.   2nd went to Marvin Ridge out of Waxhaw, NC with 200 points.
