Andrew Beroset goes 4:08.52 at Aggie Invitational

Gulf Breeze sophomore Andrew Beroset didn't let the dust settle on yesterday's state-leading 1600m time of 4:13.41. Beroset ran US #1 4:08.52 today at the Aggie Invitational in Pensacola. Beroset, in his 2025 outdoor season opener, didn't waste any time throwing down a challenge and making a statement in the 1600. Yesterday at the Satellite High Reggie Johnson Invite, senior Joseph Socarras of Belen ran a state-leading time in the 1600 of 4:13.41. Socarras's teammate, sophomore Marcelo Mantecon wasn't far behind Socarras in 4:15.01.  In the boy's 3A state finals last year, Socarras won in 4:04.53. Mantecon was third with a 4:10.88. Beroset was fourth with a 4:11.27.  It's only week two of the outdoor season, and we are seeing some fantastic times. If everyone stays healthy and the weather cooperates, the 3A boys 1600m should be in the spotlight.
