COLUMBIA, SC--Carter traveled north this weekend and made light-work of the
multistate competition at the Taco Bell Track Classic. Carter took the 200m win with a national
leading time of 21.02 over Mike Loyd of North Carolina (21.12). The personal best mark was preceded
by a brisk 21.44 in the prelims. Xavier also won the 400m race by almost a second, with a time of 47.64,
the second best mark in Florida this spring. Palm Bay's 4x100 team finished a rather not-so-sparkling third place in 42.83,
far below their own season best.
