After starting on Friday, the 3A-1 meet at Chiles in Tallahassee is finally over! The meet was delayed due to thunderstorms and wrapped up on Monday. And WOW!
There were some really great performances, the best beyond question was MATT BEVIL! He dropped a 1:50.29, immediately going from being one of the best in the state to being #2 in the US and #7 all-time in Florida! That was a PR of well over 3 seconds. In that same race Hakeem Tarpley of Choctaw went 1:52.59 (which is a huge huge PR for him) and Bevil's teammate Luc Lawrence ran a 1:53.35. What's going on up there?? Ft. Walton Beach is pretty determined to give 3A rival Charlotte a run for its money at state, it seems!
