Meet Summary
A recurring theme seemed prevalent today among runners and coaches. Don't Quit. 22 Girls and
boys teams from across the panhandle participated in the 38th annual Wildcat Invitational. They
came ready to give it all they had and to not give up.
The girls race was exciting as Darroneisha Lott took an early lead and led the race to the finish.
Darroneisha started running in middle school. Her mom stated of her, (in middle school) "She
wanted to quit, but I told her not to." And it turns out that was good advice. Darroneisha took
first place in the girls varsity race. The Pine Forest senior ran a time of 18:55.51, about 44
seconds ahead of the rest of the pack. This is not a PR for her, but definitely a good time for an
early season race.
Finishing second was Karisa Nelson from TR Miller with a time of 19:39.21 and Sarah da Vaux
with Fort Walton was in third, running 19:46.81. Fort Walton ...
