Boys 1A Districts Highlights
Blountstown sophomore Curtis Ellis emerged as the new 1A state leader in the 100m after his fast 10.57 at the District 2 meet, moving to No. 1 in the TFRRS rankings.
Distance standout Evan Spreitzer (Holy Trinity, 2026) and defending state champion in the 3200m, opted out of the 800m at District 8 but still delivered a dominant showing. He swept the 1600m (4:21.27) and 3200m (9:21.18) titles and contributed to the winning 4x800 relay, reinforcing his status as one of the top distance runners not only in 1A, but in the state.
Charles Loftin of Providence, the defending 1600m champion, won the District 4 championships in the 800m (1:55.63) and the 1600m (4:26.41). The senior was 4th in the 3200 (10:31.91) and qualified for regionals. It's a tough triple with the 800m sandwiched in between the 1600 and the 3200.
Victory Christian's Andrew Morrison, the 1A state leader in the 110m hurdles, continued his strong season with a 14.56 win at District 10. The junior showcased his versatility by also placing second in the 200m (22.09), winning the high jump (1.82m), and running a leg on the winning 4x100 relay.
Julian Luiz (Benjamin School, 2026), the state leader in the 400m hurdles, dominated District 13 with a 54.76 win. He added wins in the 110m hurdles (14.76) and long jump (6.54m), while also contributing a leg on the runner-up finishing 4x100 relay.
Holy Trinity's Jaeden McMillan is the 1A defending champion in the Boy's 110mH with a 14.30. The senior is ranked No. 3 at this time with a 14.36. He was 2nd in the District 8 110mH in 14.42.
Holy Trinity senior Camryn McRoy climbed to No. 2 in the 1A rankings in the 400m hurdles after winning District 8 in 56.02, the second-fastest time recorded across all districts.
The Benjamin School's 4x100 relay continued its upward rankings movment, clocking 42.09 to win District 13 and move to No. 3 in the 1A rankings, inching closer to the sub-42 barrier.
Providence Academy took over the top spot in the 1A 4x800 rankings with an 8:12.82 victory at District 4, establishing itself as a clear favorite heading into the state meet.
In the high jump, Trinity Christian sophomore Ja'Khari Jackson cleared 2.02m to win District 4, maintaining his position as the 1A state leader and one of only three athletes in the classification over 2.00m. Westminster Academy's Joshua Williams also joined that elite group with a 2.00m clearance to win District 15. Williams added a long jump title at District 5 (6.48m), along with legs on the winning 4x400 relay and runner-up 4x100 relay.
Melbourne Central Catholic junior Grady Bronenbeger took over the 1A state lead in the long jump with a 7.05m leap at District 8. He also won the high jump (1.92m), placed third in the 200m (22.75), and ran on the second-place 4x100 relay to cap a busy and productive meet.
Indian Rocks junior Anthony Cavallaro is the defending champion in the discus with a 54.21m (177-10.00) mark. He is currently No. 2-ranked in 1A with a 53.28m. Cavallaro won both the shot put and the discus in District 11 with throws of 15.61m and 49.71m.
