Smith, Davidson Lead Stellar Field in 3200

This race re-wrote the Florida Girls 3200 rankings!  The top six times so far this season were put up in this meet. Shelby Davidson of Cocoa Beach took the initative and held the lead for basically the entire race. Her good friend Kacy Smith of Estero sat back on her heels in wait. With half a lap to go Smith pounded it into high gear and walked away with a five second victory with stellar closing speed. Chiles girls team looked incredible with five between 10:47 and 11:35.

Bracy Wows With Nation's Fastest 100 Meter Dash, Tied for #4 All-Time (Wind Legal) in Florida

Orlando Boone junior Marvin Bracy proved again that he is the man to beat at 100 meters in the state of Florida--and possibly the entire nation. Last year at the state meet he blazed an all-conditions state meet record of 10.19, but that time was marred with the "wind aided" asterik.  Today, barely a month into the season, he raced against unattached collegiate competition to attempt to get someone to push him.  He didn't find it, but it didn't matter... he absolutely left the field behind with a great drive phase and superb top speed for a 10.28 wind legal time.

That performance puts him by far the number one time so far in the nation this season and for wind legal performances it puts him tied for #4 All-Time in the state of Florida. Who is he locked up in a tie with?  Florida legends and multi-time NCAA champs Walter Dix and Xavier Carter. Not bad company to be in!
