Metro Conference: Jovan Davis, Logan Kruse Star the Show

Jovan Davis Sweeps Hurdles, Long Jump

Wekiva's Jovan Davis blazed to wins in both hurdle events.  He had several steps on the nearest competitor (photo above) in his 14.49 at the 110H victory in the finals, that came after a 14.30 in the prelims. The prelim time is .1 off of his personal best from FSU a couple of weeks ago.

It was the 300 meter variey though where Davis hit a new season best of 37.05. That earned the Wekiva senior the second best in the state this year and propelled him into the #5 position nationally.

As if that were not enough, he also long jumped to a 23-0 victory that is just an inch and a half off of his season best.

Kruse Over Hines in 1600

Logan Kruse of DP took down JL Hines of Boone 4:15.08 to 4:19.  Kruse now holds on to the third spot in the rankings for the boys 1600. Logan went on to finish third in the 3200.

Bridget Blake Takes 1600, 3200

Winning by a big margin in both, Bridget Blake left little doubt that she is the best distance female in the conference. With 18 seconds over second she took the tape in the four-lapper in 5:00.79.  Then she closed the night with an 11:06 win in the 3200, which was about 300 meters better than the next position.
