Chase Named FHSAA Scholar Athlete of the Year

Trinity Prep senior Whitner Chase was chosen from 12 finalists as the FHSAA Scholar Athlete of the year. According to the FHSAA the award, " is the most prestigious honor conferred on an active student athlete by the Association." Chase has a 3.9 grade point average and has earned four varsity letters in cross country and two in track and field.  

He was a part of the Saints 2009 and 2010 team championships in cross country where he placed third both years. On the track, Chase earned valuable points towards the Saints' team title. He finished second in the 1600,  third in the 3200, and ran a leg of the winning 4x800 relay team. 

In addition to the $1000 award and commemorative medallion for being a finalist, he will also receive an additional $3,000, as well as a trophy. He plans to attend Davidson College in Davidson, NC and study biology.
