Emily Edwards Transfers To Fort Myers

Fort Myers' Coach Kelly Britton has confirmed  that Canterbury's Emily Edwards has transferred to the school for her sophomore season.

Edwards won three golds as an eighth grader at the Middle School State Championships. She placed first int he 800, 1500, and 3000. As a freshman,she placed sixth in the 1A Cross Country Championships. On the track she placed second in the 800 and third in the 1600.

She adds depth to a Fort Myers team that placed third last season at the 3A Cross Country Championships. The Green Wave lost individual state champion and number one runner Sarah Spann  who is headed to the University of Florida. Fort Myers will have tough competition in area teams Estero, and Lakewood Ranch.
