Florida Athletes Close AAU Junior Olympics With Four National Titles
Florida athletes made the most of the final day of competition at the 2026 AAU Junior Olympic Games on Saturday, closing out the meet with four national championships and several strong performances on the track.
Florida's youth shone brightest in the field events, where Adlee Dukes, London Weeks, Dallas Westbrook, and Calvin Jones each finished the week atop the podium.
Adlee Dukes of MPowered Athletix delivered a national championship performance in the girls' 8-under long jump. Dukes jumped a PR of 4.12 meters (13-6.25) to secure the title.
Florida picked up another long jump championship from London Weeks in the girls 12-year-old division. Competing unattached, Weeks jumped a PR of 5.13m (16-10) to take the national crown.
Dallas Westbrook of Hearts of Gold Track Club completed a Florida sweep of the day's highlighted 12-year-old long jump championships. Westbrook won the boys competition with a leap of 5.43m (17-9.75).
One of Florida's youngest competitors also delivered on the national AAU stage. Seven-year-old Calvin Jones of Daytona Express won the boys 8-under turbo javelin championship with a PR throw of 28.29m (92-9), adding another AAU Junior Olympic national title to Florida's Saturday total.
Lomoriello Leads Florida Distance Finishers
On the track, Luke Lomoriello of Golden Elite Track turned in a top-five performance in the boys 13-year-old 3,000m final. Lomoriello clocked a PR of 9:43.46 to finish fifth nationally.
He wasn't the only Florida athlete inside the top seven. NEXTRUN's Joao Cardoso crossed the line seventh in 9:47.78, giving Florida two athletes among the top seven in the championship race.

In the women's 17-18 100m final, Malikah Mais of FSG (Five Star General Athletics) finished fifth nationally. Mais stopped the clock at 11.86, officially recorded at 11.855, with a legal 0.7 m/s tailwind.
