The best of the best from Florida's panhandle headed to Marianna for the Panhandle Cross Country Championships.
Chiles coming off a second place finish at Pre-State paved the way with Lily Williams and Carly Thomas both breaking 18 minutes. Williams finished first in 17:50.26 with Thomas behind her in 17:59.98. Teammate Rachel Givens rounded out the top three. Chiles placed their top six runners in the top twelve to win the team championship with an average time of 18:34.86.
In the boys race it was an impressive showing by Fort Walton Beach who place all seven runners in the top thirteen with a team average of 16:13.53. Despite the team championship, the individual honors went to Nicholas Morken of Niceville with an impressive time of 15:53.89. Christian Taylor Buzzard of Chiles was second in 15:58.14.
