Salute To Seniors: Jamal Pitts - Paxon School

What was your most memorable meet?

My most memorable meet was Golden South Classic. They had free stuff everywhere.

Who would you consider your biggest competition?

I wouldn't say it was really the biggest competition, but more of a school rivalry would be when we raced Stanton College Prep.

Out of all your High School accomplishments, which one stands out the most?

The two school records I hold in the 200 and 400 stand out the most.

If you could do it all over again, what would you change about your running career in high school?

I would have started running AAU and USATF a lot earlier.

What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome?

The most difficult obstacle was a hamstring injury I got my first track meet of this year. It kept me out half the season.

What will you miss the most?

I will miss the camaraderie amongst my teammates and the other competitors we faced over and over again.

Do you have any advice for younger athletes?

Work hard to catch your dreams. If you stride for it you'll acquire it in due time.

What are your college plans?

I've not yet committed to any college. I am still weighing my options, but I will be running in college somewhere. That's for sure.

Who would you like to say Thank you to?

All praise be to Allah. Thank you to my family and friends/coaches that supported me and made me a better athlete on and off the track.
