Tabarie Henry, a senior from Miami Hallandale and the state leader in the 400m, has gone through what one could only describe as a season of turmoil and stress, and will now be carrying a chip on his shoulder as he begins the 3A state series this week. Why you ask?
"Man, it's been one crazy season. I've been ineligible to compete for Hallandale since I transferred in January. I transferred from Miami Norland this January because of hurricane damage to my house as well as my grades. I couldn't transfer until I had taken my midterms, which were in January."
Students often transfer schools for various reasons whether it be a move, family issues, or various other incidents. The FHSAA has a strict policy about having residency in the area of the public school you attend.
