The 2013 Middle School State Championship will be held on May 4th, again at Calvary Christian in Clearwater. Here are the entry standards and procedures for this year.
Automatic Qualifying Standards
Any middle school aged Florida athlete achieving the standard below at any meet of the current track and field season using fully-automatic timing with professional timing software and equipment will qualify to enter. The meet must send meet results to flrunners.com in Hytek or RaceTab format within 24 hours of the meet.

Qualifying by Place at Regional Championship
In addition to the above, the top TWO finishers in each event from each FLYRA-recognized regional championship meet. This means regardless of their time/mark, the top two places from those regional meets will automatically advance. In addition to those top two places, anyone else meeting a qualifying standard will also qualify (just like any other meet).
PLEASE NOTE this only applies to the specific meets that we recognize as a regional championship. It does not apply to any FHSAA high school regional meet or any other meet, regardless of what the meet director might say. Please make sure you are attending a recognized meet. We will list them out below.

Entry Procedure
Once you qualify, you must enter online on the FLYRA/flrunners.com Meet Page. Just because you meet a qualifying standard does not mean you are entered, you or your coach still must enter you online. The entry deadline is Sunday, April 28th at 11:59 PM. No day of registration is allowed. No exceptions.
Entry Fee: $15 per athlete, $15 per relay team. $150 max per gender for a team. We will be accepting credit card payments online. Please try to pay in advance of meet by credit card. This will make check in go much more smoothly. If you absolutely can not, we will accept cash or check at the meet. But you must pay to participate... no "IOU" or promises.

1st-8th Medals for individuals and relays.
Trophy to top two school teams. Championship trophy to top club team.
School vs. Club
The line is gray for FHSAA member schools and their participation. We do not care nor enforce any rules about school jerseys or what team you choose to represent. But just please be aware and make a decision for your own team. Some teams decide they must compete under a club name and with club jerseys. Again, that is your call. When you enter your team, there will be a blank on the form to provide an alternate team name. You can there decide what you want to be known as.
Regardless of the name or jersey, we will separate teams comprised of athletes of the same school into the "school" division and teams with athletes from various schools into the "club" division.
