In last month's flrunners.com poll only 11.08% of those responding felt Laura Bowerman was the top female runner going into the cross country season this fall. That stat might be substantially different if we reran that poll today!
At Saturday's Twilight 5K in Tampa, Bowerman took off fast and never looked back. Her huge PR of 17:05 would qualify her for an elite performance in the guys catagory, and catapults her into the realm of the national elite.
Some may point out that it was a road race, it was flat, it was nighttime. Then again it is also only Mid-August. What an exciting fall it will be for the Bowerman family!
