FACA Cross Country Clinic 2012

When Wendy Thomas began running, she just wanted to lose some extra weight. Four years and more than a few pounds later, she got 12th place in the Olympic marathon trials. Though she won't be going to London, her story is a surprising one, and she owes much of her success to her training with the American Distance Project.

Coaches who attended the conference had plenty of opportunities to learn how to improve their teams. Florida Runners wants to make it easier for those who didn't attend. That's why we'll be posting overviews of some of the conference's sessions, so that you can implement new and old ideas alike into your coaching regimen.

The 2012 FACA Cross Country Clinic is set for the sunny beaches of Clearwater, Florida. The Sheraton Sand Key Hotel will host the three day event that runs Thursday through Saturday. FACA Cross Country Chair Kristin McWilliams is very excited about this years' line up of speakers and panelists. Topics range from "Common Sports Injuries", to specific training workouts, and the ever popular coaches panels which this year will include a "Panel of Legends", and a special coaches two mile!. FLRunners will have complete coverage of the event including recaps of the days events, as well as videos of presentations and interviews with speakers and panelists.
